What is GrubHub?
A friend of mine used GrubHub recently to place an order for food delivery, and I thought my readers would be interested in how this convenient smartphone app works.
GrubHub is one the top online food ordering companies in the world. The GrubHub app and online service allow you to order food takeout or delivery from several thousand restaurants, in nearly 900 cities.
How do I use it?
The GrubHub app and online service are free to use. Just download the app to your smartphone, or online (GrubHub.com).
Once the GrubHub app is open follow these steps:
- Start by typing in your address and click "Find."
- Next, you will see a list of restaurants delivering in your area, along with an additional option located at the top left-hand side, for nearby pickup.
- Choose the menu items of your choice, and click “Add to bag.”
Checking out of GrubHub after you've placed your order will then notify the restaurant to begin cooking your food. GrubHub emails you a receipt and contacts you to confirm your order.
Why use GrubHub
GrubHub helps you discover food locations from anywhere. After you type in an address, GrubHub tells you which restaurants offer delivery or pickup. You can search by cuisine, rating, price and other features. Placing your order online or by phone is free of charge.
When you place your first order, you'll enter a credit card and a delivery location. GrubHub stores this information so you won't have to enter it again for future orders from any GrubHub listed restaurant. You can even store several delivery locations and pick the one you want to use when ordering.
GrubHub has a way of tracking your order, so you know exactly when your food is ready, picked up, and you can see the delivery in progress on a map and view the name of the person making the delivery so you'll know who's at your door when it arrives.
To my way of thinking
If you are someone looking to order delivery or pickup, GrubHub is a simple way for you to do so. GrubHub helps you select from a wide variety of restaurants so that you can order food from anywhere near you using your smartphone.
