Three Things You Should Know About Making Money with Ads on YouTube

1. YouTube offers a way to make money by running ads from Google in your videos. You'll need to create a free Brand Channel using the Create New Channel feature.

2. Brand channels need 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of views over the most recent 12 months to be eligible to run ads. Once you reach this threshold, you can use Google's AdSense account to run ads.

3. To be paid for the ad, a viewer must watch for 30 seconds or at least half of the advertisement. Pay for each ad view that qualifies is about 18 cents. Google keeps 45% of that, so the channel makes about 9 cents per ad. Google pays when your ad revenue reaches $100 in any month.
