Tech Topic: How-to Customize Your MacOS
In today's Tech Topic video, I'm walking you through some of my favorite ways to customize macOS and make your Mac more useful, comfortable, and personal. Whether you're new to Mac or haven't explored many options, I'll show you how much you can change—and how easy it is once you know where to look. I'll be demonstrating live on my desktop (which I've tweaked quite a bit!) and covering practical settings that many people don't even realize are customizable.
You'll see how to change things like:
? Your wallpaper (including dynamic ones that change with the time of day)
? The appearance of your desktop and dock
? Menu bar and sidebar icon sizes
? Pointer size and color (mine's orange with an outline!)
? Display resolution and scaling for better visibility
? Battery and power settings
? Finder preferences (like what opens by default and how to show external drives)
? Widgets you can add directly to your desktop (clocks, recent files, and more)
? Hot corners and how to assign shortcuts to the edges of your screen
? Accessibility options like enlarging text and increasing contrast
I also explore accessibility options for enlarging text, increasing contrast, or making your screen easier on the eyes, whether you have vision issues or want a more comfortable view. You don't need to be a tech expert to make your Mac easier to use.
Join me in this session, and I'll guide you step by step through the System Settings that let you take control of your experience.
