Making Money with Branded and Graphic Merchandise - Without Inventory!

Physical Merchandise

While merchandise may not be on your list of ways to make money from content, I highly recommend it. If you're building a brand name and connection with followers for your content, branded, logo, or graphic merchandise gives them the chance to connect with you differently. A t-shirt, mug, cap, or another item of merchandise with your brand name and logo can be a way for them to support you, and for you to make money. If you're a graphic artist, physical merchandise gives you another format to sell your designs, photos, or artwork.

No Inventory

Branded and logo merchandise don't require any inventory. Using the websites, I'll tell you about it's incredibly easy to set up an account with a merchandising service and make physical products available on-demand. The customer orders the product, the si produces it to your specifications, and you collect a commission on the sale.

Two sites are among the most popular in setting up branded and logo merchandise:

  • zazzle.com
  • cafepress.com

These two sites are the most extensive services for selling physical merchandise, offer a free account, and include a wide range of physical merchandise for selling your products,

How They Work

Both Zazzle and CafePress are similar for sellers of merchandise. You set up your seller account, upload graphics, select products, and make them available for sale. Zazzle and CafePress offer the products for sale on their sites and provide HTML links for you to include on your website.

A click on the product link guides them to your store on Zazzle or CafePress, they select their product, any options (such as sizes for shirts), and complete the transaction. Payment is processed by the services. The price includes the cost of production and a commission for the sale taken by the service. You'll receive the net proceeds in your account.

Commissions are about 15% on items sold. The 15% may not seem like a substantial margin, but there's no need for you to incur costs for inventory, shipping, or transaction processing fees. If you've got a brand name, logo, or unique images or copyright material, consider using one of these sites to add another monetization method.

Items available for sale include these and more:

  • Water bottles

And of course, now there are masks available!
