Golden Nugget 101: Turn On Gmail's "Undo Send" Safety Net

The Golden Nugget

Gmail can give you a few seconds to cancel an email after you hit Send. It's a simple setting that can save you from sending a message too soon, forgetting an attachment, or emailing the wrong person.

Why It Helps

Everyone has experienced that sinking feeling right after sending an email. The Undo Send feature gives you a brief window to catch mistakes before the email actually leaves.

How To Do It

  1. Open Gmail on your computer.

  2. Click the gear icon (Settings) in the top-right corner.

  3. Select See all settings.

  4. Under the General tab, find Undo Send.

  5. Set the cancellation period to 30 seconds (the maximum available).

  6. Scroll down and click Save Changes.

  7. The next time you send an email, click Undo if you spot a mistake.

Bobology Boost

A 30-second pause can save 30 minutes of explaining an email mistake later. 📧✨
