Golden Nugget 112: Turn On Storage Sense and Let Windows Clean Up for You
The Golden Nugget
Windows includes a feature called Storage Sense that automatically removes temporary files, empties the Recycle Bin, and cleans up unnecessary clutter without you having to remember.
Why It Helps
Over time, temporary files and forgotten items can consume valuable storage space. Storage Sense helps keep your PC running smoothly and can free up gigabytes of space with almost no effort.
How To Do It
-
Click Start and open Settings.
-
Select System → Storage.
-
Turn on Storage Sense.
(Sometimes it is already on by default)
-
Click Storage Sense to customize how often it runs.
-
Choose when to delete temporary files and how often to empty the Recycle Bin.
-
Let Windows handle the cleanup automatically.
