Golden Nugget 106: Share a Google Drive Folder Without Emailing Files
The Golden Nugget
Instead of emailing documents back and forth, share an entire Google Drive folder. Everyone can access the latest versions of the files in one place, and updates are applied automatically.
Why It Helps
Sharing folders keeps projects, family documents, travel plans, or club information organized. It reduces confusion, prevents duplicate files, and makes collaboration much easier.
How To Do It
-
Open Google Drive.
-
Find the folder you want to share.
-
Right-click the folder and select Share.
-
Enter the email addresses of the people you want to share it with.
-
Choose their access level:
-
Viewer – can only view files.
-
Commenter – can leave comments.
-
Editor – can make changes.
-
-
Click Send.
Bonus Tip: If you share a new file into that folder later, everyone with access to the folder can see it automatically.
Bobology Boost
