3 Things You Should Know About Domain Names

A domain name serves the same purpose on the internet that a postal address does for a letter. It's a way to find a location using an address, and on the web, it's a domain.

Domain names are purchased for use by paying an annual fee through companies called domain name registrars. Two popular ones are GoDaddy and Network Solutions, but there are many others.

You can use one vendor for your web hosting and a different one for registering your domain name. Domain name registrars let you point your domain name to any hosting service.
