Internet Marketing for Small and Local Business

Promote your business on the Web! Generate more business, keep your customers coming back, and build a brand name for your business. In this exciting course you will learn the tricks and techniques to successfully promote your business on the Web. Learn how to use Google AdWords and search to drive traffic to your Web site. Learn how a landing page can be used for promotions and offers. Find out what makes a successful email newsletter and how can you build one for pennies. Make the most of social networking tools like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and blogging to increase your sales. We’ll discuss how to use feedback sites and FREE local listings that can help you generate more business. One session, 3 hours.

Facebook and Social Media Marketing

Learn effective Social Media marketing that gets results. Go beyond just being a user on Facebook and Social Media sites and learn how to get leads, find prospective clients, and pull people in-the-door using proven Social Media marketing methods and tools. You’ll learn how to: create a Facebook Page for your business, create content that attracts Fans and followers, and connect your Web site to Facebook. Find out how other businesses are using coupons, promotions, and contests to attract and build a Fan base and local listings and “check-ins.” Get valuable information on marketing with other sites like Yelp, Foursquare and how to save hours of marketing time. Put together a marketing calendar and plan to take your Social Media activity to a new level for your business.  One session, 3 hours.

Facebook, Twitter, and Social Networking for Beginners

Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and blogs have changed how people use the Internet. Whether you want to stay in touch with family and friends or learn how to leverage social networking for your business, this workshop is designed to give you an understanding of these exciting tools and how each one differs and can be used to its best advantage. Learn how the largest Social Networking sites work, how to set up your account, how to find friends, family members, groups and establish connections with the most popular Social Networking services. One session, 3 hours.

How to Make Money with Blogging

If you can write an email, you can write a blog! You will learn what a blog is, where blogs are found, and how to make money with a free blog on the Internet. Learn the most effective ways to make money with blogging including affiliate programs, selling advertising, getting paid for blogging. Get valuable tips and techniques for promoting your blog with Social Media sites and ways to increase your blog traffic and why blogs are your best Web site for the Internet today. Find how to pick a blog topic that makes money and learn over a dozen ways to get content for your blog.  One session, 3 hours.

Blogging for Fun and Profit

You will learn what a blog is, where blogs are found, and how to create a blog for free. Join us and find out how to share information, pictures, and videos with your family, friends, organizations, and customers. You can even use your blog to share your ideas with the world, and make money doing it! Learn about affiliate programs and other ways to make money with blogging, and using your blog with Social Media sites.  Topics include: What are blogs and who is using them, Setting up and hosting your blog, Using photos, video, and audio, Blogging for business, Selling ads on your blog, Marketing your blog, Building blog communities, Using a blog as your Web site. One session, 3 hours.

Blogging with Wordpress

Learn how to create a free blog with WordPress and use it for your Web site in addition to a blog. You’ll get step-by-step instructions on how to set up your WordPress account, use the WordPress dashboard, add new posts, create pages, insert photos and images from your computer, change and select templates, and insert videos from YouTube. We’ll cover the steps to connect it to Social Media sites including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, how to add “widgets,” choose and change templates, and use other options to customize your blog. You’ll learn how to prevent objectionable comments from displaying on your blog, and get tips on how to come up with ideas for content, promoting your blog, making money with affiliate programs, and how to use your blog for selling with PayPal. One session, 3 hours.

How to Start Your Own Smartphone App Business

Apps are hot right now. With the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Android selling like hotcakes, and apps are in big demand. Learn how to take your app idea from concept to the iTunes store and turn it into income. This class will cover what goes into a successful iPhone app, how to find a market for your application, getting your app on the iTunes store and how to market and promote your app.  Get information on how to develop your idea for an app and learn about new tools for making apps with little or no programming experience. Learn how you can create an app that gets great reviews, provide customer support, and price your app for the most revenue.  One session, 3 hours,  $30 materials fee for class workbook.

iPhones, iPads, and I’m Lost

Today’s iPhone® and iPad® do so much more than simply make phone calls or send text messages. With either of these new devices you now have a computer, Web browser, eBook reader, personal organizer, and more — all in your hand! In this entertaining class, you will learn how to set up your iPhone® and/or iPad® for email, texting, WiFi networks, and Bluetooth and how to best sync with your computer using iTunes®. You also will discover how to take terrific photos and send them to friends, install apps, and figure out the best apps to make your iPhone® and/or iPad® smarter. One session 3 hours.

iPhones and iPads for Businesses and Professionals

Save time, become more productive, and use your mobile smartphone or tablet to make your business and professional life more effective. Learn how to use Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with Apple mobile phones and tablets to edit and save changes while you’re on the go. Get email, contacts, and appointments all in sync and learn how to use apps that sync up files, notes, pictures,  email, and make presentations on-the-go. For mobile workers, small business owners, and entrepreneurs who want to use a mobile device to charge credit-card transactions and apps that make you’re small office seem like a large one. If you’re a busy professional who’s getting bogged down by your mobile technology, this class will help streamline your work show you new ways to work mobile. One session 3 hours.
NOTE: This class will cover Apple iPhone and iPad features and apps.

Tablets and iPads for Travel and Entertainment

Are you someone who bought a tablet to take with you on a vacation or use for watching movies, TV or reading books? In this entertaining and fun class you’ll learn about apps that can make your trip more enriching and enjoyable. Get information on how to prepare your mobile tablet or iPad for travel and what you need to connect to WiFi and Cellular networks overseas and save money on roaming charges. We’ll cover your options for watching video and TV shows, at-home, and while you’re on-the-go and show you how to get movies, TV shows, and books on your tablet and where to find them. Finally we’ll cover how to use your tablet with both built-in and digital cameras, and how-to share your photos with friends and family.  One session 3 hours.
NOTE: This class will cover both Android and Apple mobile apps.

LinkedIn is the largest social network for professionals with over 100 million users. Learn  how to create the best profile for yourself that will help you in job searching, career management, and business networking. Expand your  use of LinkedIn to expand your network using groups, recommendations, discussions, answers, jobs, and show up in status updates. Find out how events, add-on applications, and a connection to Twitter can expand your visibility and promote yourself as an expert.   One session 3 hours.
